Whats the best type of course for me?

That depends on what you want. Some people choose to - or need to - take a driving course in a short time, while others prefer to spread their training over a longer period. We explain the courses we offer.

Hourly lessons

For the majority of people, having hourly lessons maybe once or twice a week may suit them. They can spread the cost of the training over some months

Hourly lessons allows you to plan your life around the lessons. Another advantage, is that you're not under any pressure to take the tests. Both you and your trainer can decide when you're ready. You also have time to have private practice if a someone is available for you to help.

The only disadvantage, is that it can be difficult to remember what you covered in detail from week to week.

Intensive Courses

Intensive driving lessons (or crash courses as some people regard them as) are designed for people who need to pass quickly. It means that you will have a lot of driving over a short period, for example, over two weeks. At the end your training, you would then take your Practical driving test.

The main disadvantage, is that you are put under a lot of pressure to learn the tasks in time for the test. Unfortunately, many people find it difficult to meet the demands.

However, if you are a confident driver, who has perhaps had previous driving experience, or copes well with pressure, these courses can get you up to speed very quickly and cost effectively.

We at Keys Driving Academy offer Intensive driving courses, but recommend that you pass the theory test before contacting us. It must also be emphasied that we do not do a weeks course for complete beginners. In our experience, that has proved too much to cope with. If you are a beginner, then we suggest that you take our 8 or 10 day courses.

If you've had some driving experience, we would need to assess your current skills so we can decide what level of training you'll need before you start the course.

We also require a deposit on an intensive course, prior to the start.
